I am an employee of a PLANET member company and I want to interact with this site. What should I do to get a username and password?

Contact the primary contact (the person who created the PLANET membership). The primary contact maintains the company roster. When you have been added to the roster you will receive an email with your temporary username and password.

Is it necessary to log in to use this site?

No, there are many areas of this site that are available without being logged in, however, to interact with this site, logging in is necessary. This includes registering for events and purchasing publications. A login is also required to participate in PLANET polls, to post a resume on the Job Site, and to post messages on the Message Board.

What is the difference between a member login and a registered guest login?

A Registered Guest login allows an individual who is not a PLANET member to interact with this Web site. An advantage of logging in is that forms are prefilled with profile information.  A Member login ensures that an employee of a member company is immediately recognized by the Web site and will enjoy discounted prices and other member benefits.

Why is my username unrecognized? It's the same one I used on the old ALCA/PLCAA Web site.

Some usernames were originally setup incorrectly, and the old sites were not picky. When we setup this new site we carried over the correct usernames, not necessarily the usernames that may have been given to you. You can send an email to PLANET's webmaster: webmaster@landcarenetwork.org or call the PLANET office at (800) 395-2522 to get the correct username and password.

Can I change my username or password?

Yes, once you log in, go to your profile to change your username, password, or both.

Username and password guidelines

It is suggested that you do not use all or part of the name of your company as your username because it could easily be guessed by others. The username should also not contain profanity, personal information, or improper comments because the username will be visible when posting a message on the message board.

Passwords should always be atleast 6 characters long, should be a combination of letters and numbers, should not contain personal information, and should not be the same as the username.
